Blues At Rangers Morning Open Thread: Reaves Questionable

The Blues' bruiser suffered a high hit Saturday night and may not be in the line-up this evening.

Just when you think that the mumps bug and injury bug have worked their way through the team, Ryan Reaves might not play tonight due to a high hit from John Mitchell Saturday night. He's being evaluated again today, per Jeremy Rutherford:

"He got whacked pretty good in the face there," Hitchcock said after Saturday's game. "He's upper-body, obviously, everybody saw it. Had to be removed from the game. We'll re-evaluate and let you know (Sunday)."

The "letting you know" was saying that he'll be re-re-evaluated today.

At least Paul Stastny's on the trip. Will he play? Who knows, but he was on-ice at Sunday's practice. Hopefully if he plays on this road trip Hitch won't be tempted to break up Vladimir Tarasenko and Jori Lehtera. Tarasenko had a couple more goals on Saturday night; breaking up that line's chemistry would be madness.

The Blues lost their home opener to the Rangers 3-2. Since then, the Rangers have gone 4-4-1 and lost Ryan McDonagh and Kevin Klein during Saturday night's 1-0 shootout loss to the Winnipeg Jets. They're already missing Dan Boyle and John Moore, one to a broken hand and one to a five game suspension.

Cam Talbot will start tonight, since King Henrik has started eight games in a row. It's time for a breather, and it might as well be against a non-Conference opponent.

This is your morning open thread. Check back later on for some Road Music thanks to CrossCheckRaise, and while you're killing time until the game, say hi to the guys at Blueshirt Banter.
