In case you missed it, tonight is Paul Stastny's first game back in Colorado since signing with the Blues this off-season. How is he approaching this game?
"I want to get that first game out of the way. After that, it’s just another game," Stastny said. "I know a lot of those guys on (Colorado's) team and this is the organization that gave me a chance to blossom into the player I’ve become. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for everything they did for me.
"I’m just excited to be back here with a Blues jersey to play another NHL game."
I'd be excited to be in a Blues jersey as well if I had just left the Avalanche. In second to last place in the Central Division, just a point above the Dallas Stars, the Avs are short their starting goaltender. Semyon Varlamov is out with a groin injury, so Calvin Pickard will be starting tonight. He made 30 saves in a solid losing-streak snapping performance Thursday evening over the Winnipeg Jets.
This is your gameday storystream. Wish Vladimir Tarasenko a very happy birthday in the comments section and if you're heading to the St. Louis Classic tonight, have fun and be careful on that ice.
Let's do this. Let's Go Blues.
