The Blues should be very well rested for the second night of their back to back. They didn't bother to play last night, so they should be sharp against the Central Division still-leading, not showing any signs of dropping off Predators.
Jake Allen looked rattled and outmatched after his second goal, the Blues were slow, and the entire team looked disinterested while playing a team that seems to embarrass them more often than not while they're playing in Chicago. The team talks a good game before they play the Blackhawks; they certainly don't PLAY a good game against them in the Windy City.
Sure, the game could've been the Blues' had two shots that clanked off of the posts'd gone in, but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. A power play that couldn't execute didn't help - and tonight against the Preds they won't get the close calls with Pekka Rinne in net.
The last three games were a sign that the Blues' offense was having issues. Last night was proof that the whole team has some stuff to iron out. Hopefully they won't leave Martin Brodeur out to dry in Nashvegas.
This is your morning open thread. Check back later on for your Road Music, and while you're hanging out for puck drop, say hi to the nice folks over at On the Forecheck.
