The Islanders are missing three of their top six defensemen to the dreaded "injury bug." The Blues, however, are just missing Jay Bouwmeester, but the rest of the team is playing defense like they're injured.
I suppose this explains the late line-up decision today:
#stlblues aren't set yet on today's lineup. Hitch said a couple of players are banged up, will decide after warmups. May go w/ 7 d-men again

Good. That makes me feel better about the Blues' chances.
The Islanders average nearly three goals a game. They allow two and a half on average. If the Blues can pressure Halak like they pressured Pekka Rinne on Thursday while at the same time actually capitalizing on more scoring chances, the Blues should be fine. Sure, they have to play defense too, but eh. Semantics.
