Panthers At Blues Morning Open Thread: Brodeur Starts At Home

Martin Brodeur will be starting for the first time at Scottrade. Will the fans and the team give him a warm welcome home?

The last time the Florida Panthers visited St. Louis, it was the second game of last season and everyone was commenting on how weird it looked to see Tim Thomas in the Panthers' net.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Martin Brodeur is set to make his first start in the Blues' net at home here in Scottrade. He's played twice so far, allowing four goals to the Nashville Predators and one to the New York Islanders in relief of Jake Allen on Saturday.

The Florida Panthers are 4-1-1 in their last six games, and are clawing their way up the standings in the East. They have a lot of young talent like Aaron Ekblad and Nick Bjugstad that have really helped the team shake off their slow start. The Panthers have a pretty bright future ahead of them. Let's put some temporary rain on their parade.

The Blues have outscored the Panthers 17-2 in the last four games that they've played against them. Time to shake off the four goals against funk that the Blues seem to be in and start that homestand on the right foot.
