I'll admit . . . life is boring without NHL hockey, but it's about to pick up with Olympic hockey, if only a little bit.

• The US? Well, both the men and women lost their opening matches, both 7-4 . . . the men to the awesome pants (and hats) of Norway and the women to Switzerland. As I finished the links, the ladies were trailing Russia 5-4 halfway through that match, then face Great Britain later this morning.
