K-Wings deliver heart-fought victory
Kalamazoo defeats Toledo on Valentine’s Day 5-2
KALAMAZOO, MI --- The Kalamazoo Wings put the crowd of 4,727 at Wings Stadium in the mood to cheer, as the K-Wings provided plenty of offense in a 5-2 victory over the Toledo Walleye during the 14th Annual Pink Ice Game.
Despite being out-shot 12-8 in the first period, the K-Wings took advantage of their scoring chances. During a cluster behind the Walleye goaltender, Justin Taylor found an open Yannick Veilleux, who buried the puck for the first strike of the contest. Both players extended their point streaks on the tally. Taylor pushed his point streak to five games, while Veilleux has earned points in four straight games.

K-Wings raise home streak to seven games in front of sellout crowd
Kalamazoo defeats Fort Wayne 5-2
KALAMAZOO, MI --- In front of a sellout crowd of 5,113, the second largest home crowd this season at Wings Stadium, the Kalamazoo Wings dismantled the Fort Wayne Komets 5-2 during the 3rd Annual Susan G. Komen Night, presented by Eaton Corporation.
While the first period was defensive, the second stanza was certainly offensive. Yannick Veilleux (9th) increased the K-Wings lead to two goals, 3:30 in to the period, with a wrist shot from the left circle. The tally extended Veilleux’s point streak to five games.

WING TIPS: Veilleux has a 9-11-20 scoring line in 40 games this season; almost half of his points (4 G, 5 A) have come in his last seven games during the month of February ... Four goals on 15 shots in seven games equates to a 26.7 shooting percentage for Veilleux in the month of February, and he has also raised his plus/minus figure form a minus-2 to a plus-5 since the end of January.
