Several prospects have been MIA for a little while, with no confirmed injury reports as yet... The Wolves and K-Wings continue to battle for first-round home ice advantage in the AHL and ECHL playoffs, and rookie Ty Rattie continues to establish himself as a top prospect.

Wolves claim another close one over Milwaukee

ROSEMONT, IL --- In another tight battle, the Chicago Wolves avenged Saturday’s overtime loss to the Milwaukee Admirals with a 3-2 win over the Midwest Division foe in an Amtrak Rivalry game on Sunday afternoon at Allstate Arena.
Right wings Michael Davies (G, A) and Cody Beach and defenseman Jani Hakanpää scored for the Wolves (29-16-4-2) while defenseman Evan Oberg dished out two assists. Goaltender Jake Allen (22-11-2) denied 17 shots to earn his fifth win in a row.

Wolves Point Streak Ends at Eight Games

ROCKFORD, IL --- The Chicago Wolves put up a fight in the third period, but could not complete the rally as they fell 2-1 to Rockford in Friday night’s Illinois Lottery Cup game at the Rockford MetroCentre.
Left wing Chris Porter scored the lone tally for the Wolves (29-17-4-2) in the third period. Goaltender Jake Allen (22-12-2) made 30 saves, including several key stops in the final frame, but the Wolves failed to earn at least one point for the first time in nine games.

Wolves knock off conference-leading Heat

ROSEMONT, IL --- Forward Adam Cracknell scored 26 seconds into the game and added two assists to pace the Chicago Wolves to a 5-3 victory over Western Conference leader Abbotsford on Saturday night at Allstate Arena.
Forwards Alexandre Bolduc, Shane Harper and Ty Rattie and defenseman Evan Oberg also scored goals for the Wolves (30-17-4-2), while Keith Aucoin became the fifth player in American Hockey League history to register 600 career assists when he helped on Oberg’s second-period goal.
Matt Climie (7-9-0) stopped 34 of 37 shots to earn the win and keep the Wolves within one point of Grand Rapids in the Midwest Division.

PAW PRINTS: Rattie's 20 goals has him 14th among all AHL players and third among rookies in that category, while his 20-14-34 scoring line in 52 games has him ninth among the AHL's rookie point scoring leaders ... Rattie is also the Wolves' team scoring leader, four points ahead of veteran Mark Mancari ... The Wolves (52 GP, 30-17-4-2, 66 pts) continue to hold the fifth seed in the AHL Western Conference playoff race, five points back of fourth-seeded Texas (55 GP, 32-16-3-4, 71 pts) with two games in hand ... The Wolves have more points than third-seeded North Division leaders Toronto (51 GP, 30-17-2-2, 64 pts) and are just one point behind Midwest Division leaders and second seed Grand Rapids (53 GP, 31-17-2-3, 67 pts).

K-Wings veto Cyclones on Presidents Day

Kalamazoo defeats Cincinnati 4-3
CINCINNATI, OH --- Giving themselves some breathing room in the North Division standings, the Kalamazoo Wings defeated the Cincinnati Cyclones 4-3 Monday afternoon at the US Bank Arena.
Stealing a breakout pass early in the second period, the K-Wings tied the game at 1-1 with a goal from Yannick Veilleux (10th). Initiating the play was Sam Ftorek, who earned his 400th career assist on the tally, while Veilleux pushed his point streak to six games and his goal streak to a K-Wings’ season-high tying four games.

WING TIPS: The K-Wings (50 GP, 29-17-1-3, 62 pts) currently lead the North Division and hold the fourth seed and first-round home ice advantage in the ECHL's Eastern Conference, but Cincinnati (51 GP, 30-19-1-1, 62 pts) and Fort Wayne (52 GP, 25-16-6-5, 61 pts) are nipping at their heels ... The Orlando Solar Bears, whom the K-Wings face today at Wings Stadium and then in back-to-back games this weekend in Orlando, are currently riding an eight-game win streak.
