Jets At Blues Morning Open Thread: Flying High

The Blues've had a day of rest since their 4-1 takedown of the Nashville Predators. Will they be able to handle the Central's other non-playoff team tonight?

The Winnipeg Jets played the Dallas Stars last night, then flew into St. Louis. They are not well rested, and they will have Ondrej Pavelec in net. What could possibly go wrong?

Hopefully nothing else, because Vladimir Tarasenko is out for the remainder of the season with an injured right hand. He's kind of an important piece of the puzzle; the Blues should be able to fill the gap well for the rest of the year, however. The first round of the playoffs? That remains to be seen.

What doesn't remain to be seen is if the Blues will be meeting the Jets in the playoffs. Barring a huge push by a Jets team that has been historically not good in March, they'll be spending their seventh straight season watching the playoffs at home. They're desperate for points; the Blues aren't, but grabbing as many as they can to solidify a good playoff spot and home ice advantage is not a terrible idea. Playing against teams that aren't amazingly good are chances you can't blow.

This is your morning open thread. Check back later on for a Lighting the Lamp, your game preview, and a GDT. Don't forget to visit our friends at Arctic Ice Hockey as well for their take on things. If you're going to the game tonight, be loud. I know you have it in you.
