Wolves stop top-ranked Heat for second time in 24 hours

ROSEMONT, IL --- The Chicago Wolves wrapped up a weekend sweep of Western Conference-leading Abbotsford with a 2-0 triumph on Sunday afternoon at Allstate Arena.
Rookie right wing Ty Rattie registered one goal and one assist, defenseman Evan Oberg delivered the other goal, and Jake Allen stopped 21 shots to earn his third shutout of the season.

Wolves trounce Rochester 6-2

ROSEMONT, IL --- After a scoreless first period, the Chicago Wolves reeled off four second-period goals and cruised to a 6-2 victory over Rochester on Friday night to run their point streak at Allstate Arena to 16 games.
Forwards Shane Harper scored two goals while Alexander Bolduc, Christian Hanson, Sebastian Wännström and Mark Cundari added tallies for the Wolves (32-17-4-2), who have gone 14-0-2-0 at home since Dec. 8. Jake Allen posted 22 saves to pick up his league-leading 24th victory.

PAW PRINTS: As of today, Mar. 2, 2014, the Wolves (55 GP, 32-17-4-2, 70 pts) have 21 games left on the regular season schedule, and need to win 15 of those to crack the 100-point barrier for the eighth time in team history, and the first since 2009-10 ... Lang lifts Solar bears past K-Wings

Orlando defeats Kalamazoo 4-3 in overtime
KALAMAZOO, MI --- Capitalizing on a Kalamazoo Wings turnover early in overtime, the Orlando Solar Bears won their ninth straight game with a 4-3 decision Sunday afternoon at Wings Stadium.
Scoring their fastest back-to-back goals of the season, the K-Wings reclaimed the lead midway in the second period. Yannick Veilleux (12th) lengthened his goal streak to a K-Wings’ season-high five games, 12:30 into the middle frame, with a power-play marker. David Pacan and Justin Taylor extended point streaks with assists on the goal. Pacan has recorded points in four straight games, while Taylor established a new team season-high, earning an eight-game point streak.

K-Wings push unbeaten streak to five games with victory over Komets

Kalamazoo defeats Fort Wayne 4-1
FORT WAYNE, IN --- Led by a 31-save performance from goaltender Jordan Binnington, the Kalamazoo Wings pushed their unbeaten streak in regulation to five games (4-0-1-0) with a 4-1 victory Wednesday night against the Fort Wayne Komets.
Deflecting a Yannick Veilleux slap shot, Justin Taylor (12th) broaden the K-Wings lead to 2-0 midway in the second period. Taylor’s goal extended his point streak to a K-Wings’ season-high nine games, while Veilleux lengthened his point streak to eight games. Also earning his second assist of the night was Ftorek.

K-Wings comeback bid falls short

Kalamazoo loses 4-3 to Orlando
ORLANDO, FL --- The Orlando Solar Bears held off a late rally by the Kalamazoo Wings to win 4-3 Friday night at the Amway Center. The win increased the Solar Bears' overall win streak to 10 games and their home winning streak to nine games.
Sliding in from the point, Blake Kessel (8th) gave the Solar Bear the lead 2:41 into the contest. Kalamazoo responded midway in the period when David Pacan (10th) deflected a Yannick Veilleux wrister. Pacan’s goal extended his point streak to six games, while the assist from Veilleux lengthened his point streak to nine games. Also assisting on the tally was Justin Taylor, who pushed his K-Wings’ season-high point streak to 10 games.

K-Wings snap Solar Bears' 11-game win streak

Kalamazoo defeats Orlando 3-2
ORLANDO, FL --- Giving the Orlando Solar Bears their first home loss in 2014 (10 games) and their overall setback in 11 games, the Kalamazoo Wings defeated the Solar Bears 3-2 Saturday night at the Amway Center.
(With the game tied at 1-all midway through the second period) Yannick Veilleux (14th) put the K-Wings ahead with a slap shot from between the circles. Veilleux’s goal extended his point streak to a K-Wings’ season-high tying 10 games.
