Blues At Flyers Morning Open Thread: Hanging On

The Blues have the Bruins and the Sharks breathing down their necks for the President's Trophy. Will they regroup from an awful loss to the Chicago Blackhawks and start the Eastern part road trip on a good foot?

Remember when the Philadelphia Flyers stumbled out of the gate this season and people counted them out of the playoffs in November? Boy, do those folks have eggs on their faces. The Flyers have lost one game in regulation this month and they're second in the Metropolitan Division behind the Pittsburgh Penguins - who they just stunned in a home and home sweep last weekend.

The Broad Street Bullies have shoved their way into a playoff spot, while the teams behind the Blues are sneaking up on their league leading 101 points. It's funny how just one loss at this time of the year can close gaps that you'd rather not be closed. This road trip won't be easy, and it's off to a difficult start - but if the Blues can maintain their dominance over the Eastern Conference, they could come back to St. Louis with a comfortable lead.

This is your morning open thread. Check back in, well, not very long for some five questions with the folks at Broad Street Hockey, a CCR preview, and your GDT. Early game - get your wings delivered and your beer cold. The fun starts at noon.
