The last time the Dallas Stars were in town, they had a noble mission: win one for Rich Peverley. They did, defeating the Blues 3-2 in overtime, which was a loss that I wasn't upset with. Dallas needed it.

Tonight's Competition:
Tonight they come into town looking for points so they can squeak back up into a wild card slot. They've been knocked out by the Phoenix Coyotes, who are 7-2-1 in their last ten and are making it harder and harder for the Stars to catch up. Thankfully for Dallas the Minnesota Wild have apparently decided that the playoffs aren't for them. They're 3-4-3 in their last ten and were last seen getting blown out by the Blues Thursday night.
Basically every point counts for the Stars. They may be tired from having played the Predators last night, but I don't think that will matter one bit to them. They have a goal that they need to fight to reach - don't expect tonight to be easy.
This is your morning open thread. Check back for some Lighting the Lamp, your preview and GDT, and a recap by... um... a person to be named later while RBR is getting settled in some new digs. While you're waiting, head to Defending Big D and say good afternoon.
