Wolves settle for point in shootout loss to Iowa
ROSEMONT, IL --- The Chicago Wolves earned a point for the 24th time in their last 25 home games, but the Iowa Wild claimed a 4-3 shootout victory Sunday afternoon at Allstate Arena.
Center Pat Cannone scored two goals and Alexandre Bolduc notched the other for the Wolves (40-20-5-5) while goaltender Matt Climie stopped 29 shots in regulation and overtime and rejected five of six in the shootout. Iowa’s Dylan Labbe provided the shootout’s only goal in the sixth round.

Special teams power Wolves over Wild 4-1
DES MOINES, IA --- Goaltender Jake Allen saw his shutout bid spoiled with 1:35 remaining as the Chicago Wolves skated to a dominant 4-1 win over the Iowa Wild on Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
Center Alexandre Bolduc stepped up to lead the Wolves offense with two goals, including one shorthanded marker. Left wing Sergey Andronov opened scoring on the power play and right wing Shane Harper added a goal in the second period.

Wolves outgunned in Milwaukee 4-1
MILWAUKEE, WI --- The Chicago Wolves surrendered a power-play hat trick to the Milwaukee Admirals’ Austin Watson as they fell 4-1 on Saturday night in an Amtrak Rivalry game at the Bradley Center.
Center Christian Hanson scored shorthanded for the Wolves’ lone tally, which was the team’s second shorthanded goal in as many games. Goaltender Matt Climie (9-10-2) made 20 saves in the loss.

Jake Allen selected to 2013-14 AHL First All-Star Team
Chicago Wolves goaltender Jake Allen was announced as a member of the 2013-14 American Hockey League First All-Star Team on Thursday, as voted on by AHL coaches, players and media in each of the league’s 30 member cities.
The 23-year-old netminder has appeared in 49 of the Wolves’ 70 games this season and posted a 30-16-3 record, 2.09 goals-against average, and .926 save percentage. Allen was selected to start the 2014 AHL All-Star Game in February and leads league goaltenders in wins (31), minutes (2,958:41), and shutouts (6) while ranking second for goals-against average (2.07), saves (1,295), and save percentage (92.7%), setting career-bests in almost every statistic.

Joe Sova's overtime heroics lift K-Wings past Cyclones
Kalamazoo defeats Cincinnati 4-3 in overtime
CINCINNATI, OH --- Giving themselves some breathing room in the hunt for the North Division title, the Kalamazoo Wings defeated the Cincinnati Cyclones 4-3 Wednesday night at the US Bank Arena.
There weren’t many shots in the first period, but that didn’t stop the K-Wings from getting on the board. Former Cyclone, David Pacan (13th) scored from the left circle on a backdoor pass from Yannick Veilleux midway in the period to put the K-Wings ahead. Kalamazoo was outshot 6-4 in the opening 20 minutes.

K-Wings deliver another OT victory
Kalamazoo defeats Toledo 3-2 in overtime
TOLEDO, OH --- For the second straight game the Kalamazoo Wings needed more than 60 minutes to earn a victory. Matt Firman (8th) put in a second chance effort 1:12 into overtime to guide the K-Wings past the Toledo Walleye and place Kalamazoo within a single point of the North Division title.

Kalamazoo drops regular season finale 3-2 in overtime to Evansville
KALAMAZOO, MI --- Entering Saturday night needing only a point to clinch their fourth North Division title in the past five seasons, the Kalamazoo Wings did exactly that with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Evansville IceMen.

The K-Wings will open their pursuit of the 2014 Kelly Cup on Friday night, Apr. 18 against the Wheeling Nailers. Kalamazoo is undefeated in regulation (2-0-0-1) vs. the Nailers this season. Binnington earned both wins, allowing just three goals on 54 shots in 125 minutes for a 1.44 GAA and 94.4 save percentage. Veilleux has appeared in all three games vs. Wheeling, and has an 0-1-1 scoring line (plus-1, 2 PM).
