The Blues and afternoon games don't seem to get along well, but I think that the playoffs make everything from the regular season a moot point. This time around both teams are on equal footing, with the same abbreviated amount of rest as the other - they're banged up, they're tired, and they probably could both stand a little bit more rest.
Tough shitsky.
Ryan Miller's first period jitters are hopefully a thing of the past. Vladimir Tarasenko is a one-man wrecking crew. The fourth line was the second-best line on the ice Thursday night.
If we see these Blues again this afternoon, and if they play a full 60 minutes, they may be heading up to Chicago with a 2-0 series lead. Fun fact: according to the Elias Sports Bureau, the 3OT contest was the eighth time in NHL history the opening game of a playoff series went three or more overtimes. The winner of game one went on to advance in all seven previous instances. The Blues are also on a five game playoff winning streak against the Blackhawks. Let's make it six.
