Thursday Links - Iggy's Out. Bummer.

Neither of last night's games went the way I would've wanted it to. And one of them doing so means my favorite non-Blue will not win the Cup this year. Again. But the sun comes up today, so let's click things.

Sad Iggy makes me sadder.

Well Bruins . . . at least you made it further than the Blues, I suppose.

BLUES NEWS:

  • CanesAndBluesFan takes a look at whether or not Corsi changes with age . . . and finds results to be a bit inconclusive. [SLGT]

HOCKEY NEWS:

  • The Canadiens beat the Bruins 3-1 and won Game Seven over the Bruins in Boston. The lone Boston goal was scored by Jarome Iginla, who goes Cup-less yet again. Which makes me a sad panda. [Eyes on the Prize]
  • There was a bit of a kerfuffle in the handshake line involving Milan Lucic and Dale Weise, which raises the question . . . WHY THE FUCK DO THEY DO THIS GODDAMN THING ANYWAY? The handshake line is such a bullshit gesture that barely has anything to do with sportsmanship anymore anyway. [Puck Daddy]
  • The Kings beat the Ducks 2-1 to force a Game Seven in Anaheim on Friday. So that's one series that goes six and all three others going seven. That's pretty fun, I suppose. [Jewels From The Crown]
  • No games tonight. DAMN IT ALL.
  • Ryan Lambert takes on water squirters, both SoCal goalies, nut-spearing and other shit in his weekly Power Rankings. [Puck Daddy]
  • Wild(s) young forward Charlie Coyle played with two separated shoulders. Yikes. [Star-Tribune]
  • Meanwhile, one of the big Red Wings signings this offseason was Stephen Weiss (who, mind you, was a Blues target too). He said he hid a hernia problem that developed over the summer. Ummmmmm, Jeebus. [Windsor Star]
  • "OH, WE'RE NOT FOR SURE MOVING TO SEATTLE, YOU GUYS! DON'T MIND US, WE'RE JUST GONNA . . . Y'KNOW . . . KEEP GOING TO SEATTLE FOR NO REASON, DUDES." [KING 5]

OTHER SHIT:

  • Michael Sam having been drafted by the Rams . . . well, that's big news. This is a couple weeks old, but here's a piece about how Vince Lombardi--who some consider to be the greatest professional football coach of all time but almost certainly the greatest football coach of the 1960's--was quite accepting of homosexual players on his team. Yes, in the 60's. A very "Old School" coach, too. [Pro Football Talk]
  • Sorry, but I don't think "I had to make breakfast" is a good excuse to break into someone's house. [Y! / AP]
  • Qatar is hosting the 2022 World Cup, but the migrant workers constructing their stadiums . . . well, some of them are not making it that far, and that's a problem. [Deadspin]

VIDEO:

John Green, who apparently isn't busy enough with the upcoming release of the movie made from his book The Fault in Our Stars, tells us a bunch of shit about car names:

Rather fascinating, yes.

So normally, this would be the end of my week. But since J-Mill so graciously helped me on Monday, I'm going to take his Friday. So if you've got links, vids and whatnot, send 'em my way:
