Obviously, there's a lot of info here to pour over, but here are the highlights as I see them (correct me below if I overlook something)
- Home Opener: Already announced the day before, the Blues will start the season at home, facing the Eastern Conference champion New York Rangers on October 9, 2014 at 7PM. If the Blues pick up Brad Richards, that would make for an interesting sub-plot.
- Road Opener: The first road game is Thursday 10/16 against the LA Kings.
- Ottawa Games: Should the Blues pick up Jason Spezza, immediately circle the dates of 11/22 (road) and 11/25 (home).
- Colorado Games: Not only a division rival, but if we DO pick up Paul Stastny, these will be the games he'll be looking forward to: 11/01, 12/13, 12/23, 12/29, and 01/19.
- New York Islander / Buffalo Sabre games: When do the Blues play Jaroslav Halak? 12/06 and 12/11. Chris Stewart? 11/11 and 02/05.
- Longest Road Trip: There's a 6-game road trip in March, with stops in Dallas, Calgary, Winnipeg, Minnesota, Detroit, and Pittsburgh.
- Back-to-backs: I count 14 pairs of back-to-back games.
- Chicago Games: 10/25, 12/03, 02/08, 04/05, and 04/09. That 02/08 game is an afternoon weekend game, so that would be the most likely to have a large Chicago crowd.
- California Road Trip: The first road trip of the year includes stops in LA and Anaheim, in December we take a trip to California with stops in LA and San Jose, and we're back in early January at Anaheim and San Jose.
- Nashville Road Games: a popular choice to see the Blues as visitors: 12/04, and 12/30
- LA Kings games: to be the best, you've got to beat the best. 10/16, 12/16, and 12/18
- Western Canada Road Trip: Late starts, and usually at least one back-to-back ... a bad combo for bloggers: There's a trip at the end of February that includes stops in Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Vancouver. It looks like we play these guys more often at home than on the road.
- Fuck Detroit: 01/15 and 03/22
- Home Closer: The last game of the regular season is at home against Minnesota 4/11 at 6:30PM
