2014 NHL Draft: Blues Select 21st Overall

The Blues have a first round pick this year, which is nice.

Nick Laham

Tonight is the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, and while there isn't exactly the drama surrounding the Blues as there is for other teams - are the Panthers drafting Ekblad first or does he fall to Buffalo? THE SUSPENSE. - it is still nice to have a first round pick.

But the draft itself isn't the only thing that the draft is about.  There are trades galore, and that's what many of us are looking forward to seeing. Will the Blues turn Berglund into Jason Spezza? Are the Winnipeg Jets really pondering dealing Evander KaneWhat about Alex Burimistrov's rights? Is there a bidder for that?

I'd be ok with having two young Russians together on the Blues. Winnipeg needs an actual goaltender. I'm just sayin'.

Check back to the storystream over the day and the course of the draft for updates and analysis from Brian on the young kids and big trades that the Blues may make from me if I'm still awake.

Here's tonight's draft order:
