Blues Trade Roman Polak To Toronto Maple Leafs For Carl Gunnarsson

Let us close the door on the Roman Polak era in St. Louis. He is now a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In return? A better player and a third round pick. Thanks, Dave Nonis!

The Blues have acquired the 94th pick and Maple Leafs defenseman Carl Gunnarsson so Toronto can have an actual defensive defenseman and so the Blues can have someone who is a better overall player.

Gunnarsson has been consistently better than Polak over the last three seasons while playing more minutes against tougher competition.
