Well, it IS still technically Sunday... plus, I'm two hours behind my St. Louis friends.

The Blues' prospects have not been doing very well in Traverse City, dropping their first two games in overtime to Detroit and Minnesota, respectively. Following are the links to the box scores (such as they are) on the Blues' website:

Blues 5, Detroit 6 (OT), Sep. 12, 2014

Blues 3, Minnesota 4 (OT), Sep. 13, 2014

As you can see, the box scores aren't very complete; no listing of all the players who skated, no plus-minus, no individual shot totals, no team shot totals for the Minnesota game (making it impossible to calculate Niklas Lundström's save percentage), and no minutes played for the goalies, making their goals-against average calculations a complete guess, based on the assumption that they were in the net the entire game (not pulled for an extra attacker at any point).

Despite these restrictions, here's the best accumulation of Blues' prospect stats from Traverse City that you're going to find anywhere. Your GTPD is already making plans to attend next year's tournament, so the 2015 stats package should be quite a bit more complete:

On the other side of the Atlantic -- and northeast of the Baltic Sea -- 2014 draftee Ville Husso has jumped out to a great start for HIFK Helsinki. In two games played (120 minutes) Husso has two wins, and has allowed just three goals on 58 shots for a 1.50 goals-against average and a sparkling 94.8 save percentage. Husso's two wins are tops in the league in the early going, and his save percentage and GAA are both fourth in the league at present.

Husso is the only Blues' prospect playing games that count at the moment; the major junior seasons don't start until the last week of September, and the AHL and ECHL don't get under way until early October, with college schedules commencing in late October.

HIFK has three more game to play this week; Tuesday at home vs. Sport Vaasa, Thursday on the road against Blues Espoo, and Saturday back home to take on Ässät Pori.
