The St. Louis Blues just announced that Paul Bissonnette has been invited to the St. Louis Blues training camp starting this Friday.
Paul Bissonnette spent the last five years in Phoenix. While he had a two way contract, he spent the entire last season in Phoenix playing 39 games and averaging 5 minutes per game. Keeping that in mind, he did manage to end up ranked first in points per 60 minutes of ice time for defense (5v5) who played at least 30 games. However, his 1044 PDO suggests that this might be simply a fluke and a result of small sample size due to his lack of playing time. Behind the Net (which is where I sourced those stats above) has Bissonnette incorrectly listed as D. I regret the mistake.
Still, I wouldn't mind seeing what he would bring to the St. Louis Blues. And as many have already suggested, perhaps he can take over the St. Louis Blues twitter account from the press box on the nights he doesn't play. This team has got to do something to up its social media compete level and @BizNasty2point0 just might be what they need.
