It's a smart deal with an interesting salary structure.

Doug Armstrong: Top Nine Forwards Solidified
Army: We're still active in maybe looking to add another piece or two. But they're not a higher level. This solidifies group of 9 forwards.

Well ok then. Either Ty Rattie or Robby Fabbri aren't on the team out of camp this year or get ready to see Robby Fabbri: Fourth Line Center.

— Pierre LeBrun (@Real_ESPNLeBrun) July 1, 2015

Blues Extend Qualifying Offers To Tarasenko, Allen, Bortuzzo, Paajarvi
#stlblues have tendered qualifying offers to Tarasenko, Bortuzzo, Allen, Beach, Hakanpaa and Paajarvi. They didn't QO Wannstrom or Sheilds.
— Jeremy Rutherford (@jprutherford) June 29, 2015
No word on any terms yet for any of the QOs. I'm sure that Tarasenko's is not inexpensive by any stretch of the imagination. Paajarvi apparently increased his stock price with some solid play in Chicago, but I fear that the window for him with the NHL club is closing.

Don't get too excited - it's a depth move, but a good one. He was drafted in 2010 and is 23 years old. Here's some information on (as ArtLippo so artfully insinuated on Twitter), Jay Bouwmeester Jr. (once you see it you can't unsee it)
