So far, so fun this weekend in Columbus for the All-Star festivities. First we were treated to a drunk Alexander Ovechkin trying so hard for a car that he could buy with the paycheck from one shift. Then we had the skills competition, where Shea Weber scared every defenseman in the league and people got up to get beer during the skills relay.
This afternoon at 4:00 is the main event, the All-Star Game. Sure, it's just a bunch of rich athletes having fun for no reason and trying really hard not to get hurt. But once you accept it as what it is, it's kind of enjoyable. Myself, I'm looking forward to Vladimir Tarasenko showing off his tremendous skill set again and a few more fun tweets from Roberto Luongo while he sits on the bench.
NBCSN will have a live stream going on their site if you're away from the TV; you have to be a cable subscriber to view it.
Head back by later on for an All-Star GameDay thread to chat it up, have a few beers, and comment on how much the game sucks while you watch it anyway.
