Blues At Coyotes Morning Open Thread: Will Oshie's Trend Continue?

The Blues' forward has ramped up his play recently. Will it be enough to get the Blues on a win streak?

Rick Scuteri-USA TODAY Sports

All of this trade talk sure does seem to have T. J. Oshie playing his best hockey of the season. Oshie was named the NHL's first star of the week thanks to seven points in four games, including his highlight reel hat trick Saturday night in the Blues' 7-2 blowout of the San Jose Sharks.

It's not doubtful that the Arizona Coyotes will let the Blues walk all over them, since the last time these two teams played back on October 18th it was a 6-1 blowout with a Jaden Schwartz hat trick and 10 points for the STL Line. The Coyotes are second to last in the Western Conference thanks to atrocious play from Mike Smith (enjoy that contract!) and a line-up that seems to be operating on the cheap.

The Coyotes are on a hot streak, winning four out of their last five. The Blues'd like to get a streak going. They haven't lost to the Coyotes in Glendale since 2011, so now's as good of time as any to start one.

This is your morning open thread. Check back for some Road Music from CCR, and while you're waiting on a later (but not too late!) puck drop, stop in at Five For Howling and see how they're handling this season so far.
