GameThread for San Jose Sharks at St. Louis Blues, Jan 8, 2015

The Blues at the halfway point of the season are firmly in the playoff picture, but are still managing to raise concerns. The team can make those a moot point for now with another dominant win.

Welcome to game 41, the halfway point. Despite a stretch of mediocre play at best, the Blues have begun to right the ship with dominant wins against the Phoenix Coyotes and tonight's opponents, the San Jose Sharks. It's no coincidence that the ship-writing happened to coincide with Jaden Schwartz's return. Hitch's stopped the line juggling. The fourth line is as it should be.

Everything is fine.

Of course, you underestimate the Sharks at your own risk. The Jets learned that the hard way, allowing the winning goal in the last seconds of the game. Joe Pavelski won both that game and the Sharks' game against the Minnesota Wild for them, so San Jose is off to a good start on this road trip.

The Blues need to get off to a good start on this homestand.

This is your GameDay Thread. Comment a lot, because it keeps you warm. Or else just drink a lot - it doesn't really keep you warm, but it makes you feel toasty.

Let's do this. Let's go Blues.
