There's a rookie with twice as many goals as Connor McDavid. His name is Colton Parayko.
Is that going to keep up? Probably not. Is it fun to say right now? You bet. Coach Ken Hitchcock has had nothing but positives to say about the young blueliner. From the Calgary Sun:
Asked if the 6-foot-5, 226-lb. St. Albert native is projected to run the Blues powerplay in the next four or five years, Hitchcock laughed.
"How about four or five months," said Hitchcock whose Blues beat the host Calgary Flames 4-3 Tuesday thanks to Parayko’s first two NHL goals.
"He’s got composure on the puck where most people panic. That’s a good sign for a young player. We’re not afraid to play him against anybody. He’s just getting better and better every day."
At the rate injuries seem to be happening to the Blues' key players - one a game starting last Saturday - Parayko may be quarterbacking the power play tomorrow night in Vancouver.
This is your game day thread. Welcome to (hopefully) a replay of last Thursday. Elliott's in net. The Blues are good to go.
Let's do this. Let's go Blues.
