Jake Allen is making up for lost time in his quest to be the top goalie in St. Louis.

Jake Allen has played very, very well recently. With a shut-out win against Tampa Bay and just one goal against versus the Ducks, he's turned around a shaky start to the season. His stats (2.01 GAA, .928 save percentage) have shot up, and he is currently besting Brian Elliott with nearly the same number of minutes played.

One of Allen's losses this season came against the Minnesota Wild back on October 10th, a 3-2 loss. The Blues outplayed the Wild as the game progressed, but a shaky second period cost the Blues. Allowing two goals 20 seconds apart usually odes.

The Blues are missing key players that they weren't missing earlier this month. Will the outcome be different?

This is your morning open thread. Check back in a few for a Lighting the Lamp, your preview, and your GDT. While you're waiting, head over to Hockey Wilderness and see how they're celebrating Halloween. Hopefully it will be by turning Devan Dubnyk into a pumpkin.
