Blackhawks At Blues Morning Open Thread: Keith, Rozsival Return To Hawks Lineup

Because of course they do.

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Blackhawks haven't had the start to their season that they wanted, mainly because of injuries on defense. Young kids like Viktor Svedberg and Erik Gustafsson have been plugged in, and they've made the most of their learning experience under coach Joel Quenneville. The Blackhawks are also 8-7-1, which is good for ninth in the conference.

That look toward the future hampered the present, through no fault of the youth. Circumstances sometimes just suck, and the Blues made the most of those circumstances with their 6-5 overtime win that gave us all #roarbacon. But tonight the Blues will have to deal with the return of not just Duncan "You can't prove I did nuttin'" Keith and Michal Rozsival from the IR.

Jake Allen may have his work cut out for him tonight. Allen's getting a bounce back start after allowing three first period goals in the Blues 6-3 loss to the New York Rangers Thursday.

This is your morning open thread. Check back later for a Lighting the Lamp from our buddy Rick Ackerman, your game preview, and while you're waiting on puck drop, say hi to our friends at Second City Hockey.

Iif you're going to the game tonight, which of these #roarbacon creations will you be trying?

Coming to Scottrade Center tomorrow for Blues vs. Blackhawks? We'll have some special #RoarBacon-inspired food choices for you. http://bit.ly/1Nq2fSV
