GameThread for Detroit Red Wings at St. Louis Blues, Nov 21, 2015

Two points would go a long way to keeping pace in the crowded Central Division.

It's sad when the Wings/Blues rivalry is being talked about like it's a part of yesteryear, but as Jeremy Rutherford points out, with new faces on both teams, it seems to be heading that direction.

"I was thinking about it last night, how much fun these games used to be," said Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk, who is sixth season with the club. "I mean they were like the Chicago games, they had that much importance. I think the fans still embrace it that much.

"For me, especially coming from Colorado where the Red Wings (and Avalanche) rivalry was so big, I didn't really realize how big it was here. So for me it still kind of resonates a little bit. Unfortunately we only get to play against them twice, but it's still fun because they still have a few guys over there who were part of it and they remember what those battles were like."
