Brian Elliott did not have a good evening last night. He allowed four goals, and was pulled once for a brief cooling-off period. He was eventually pulled after 17 minutes of ice time, not because of allowing a back breaking goal, but because of this ill-advised play on the part of David Backes.
Backes was given a two-minute penalty for interference.
It's a play that he "feel[s} pretty bad about."
It's a play Brian Elliott felt pretty badly about too because he left the game and sat in the quiet room for a while. Coach Ken Hitchcock stated after the game last night that Elliott will be evaluated today.
At the rate that the Blues are going, expect a call-up or two between Elliott and Steve Ott's injury last night.
