Blues Sign Martin Havlat To One Year Deal

Dainius Zubrus was released from his PTO today.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

As expected, Blues general manager Doug Armstrong made his decision today on the two veterans who were on professional try outs: Martin Havlat and Dainius Zubrus. Zubrus was released from his tryout; Havlat was signed to a one-year deal.

The reinforcement has arrived. General Fanager has his contract terms. The former Six Million Dollar Man is signed at just $600,000 at the NHL level, $200,000 at the AHL level. His production has dropped off, but as we have seen with Scott Gomez and Scottie Upshall, that doesn't prevent them from being useful. What remains to be seen is how well Havlat fits in with the team and in what role he will be utilized.
