Stars At Blues Morning Open Thread: Blues Could Gain Divisional Ground

The Dallas Stars have been a problem for the Blues the last few seasons. Will that change tonight?

Thursday night's 4-2 loss was Chris Pronger bobblehead night. The tribute to the former Blues' captain drew fewer than 15,000 fans.

Fans are feeling fatigued by the Blues' latest streak of lackluster play; thankfully, tonight is another promotional night: Captains' Night. The current captain, David Backes, did what he does best - he scored a goal at the doorstep to bring the Blues within one of the Flyers before the opposition scored an empty netter to close the game.

The Blues tonight may have some higher attendance numbers by virtue of it being a Saturday; will they have a better outcome? The Dallas Stars have had the Blues' number as of late; this season, the number to look at are the total goals scored:

Blues Stars Goals By Period

That's indicative of both the Stars' danger and the Blues' anemic scoring as of late. Jamie Benn is leading the league with 19 goals, Tyler Seguin has 15, and the Stars have four players with more than ten. The Blues have two.
