"Game Time " PROSPECT SUNDAY for December 13, 2015

The Chicago Wolves' player personnel decisions must be getting made by WWE Creative, because they sure do seem to be trying to bury Tommy Vannelli. The rookie has been a (presumably) healthy scratch for ten consecutive games now; we say "presumably," because if Vannelli is injured, it has not been reported, leaked, rumored or so much as hinted at. Call us crazy, but we can't see how benching a rookie for ten consecutive games is helping that kid to develop as a player...

WOLVES FORAGE FOR WIN OVER WILD

DES MOINES, IA --- Rookie forward Ivan Barbashev scored the go-ahead goal with 4:43 left to spark the Chicago Wolves to a 5-3 victory over the Iowa Wild on Tuesday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
Forwards Jordan Caron, Yannick Veilleux and Pat Cannone scored the first three goals for the Wolves (11-7-1-2) while defenseman Peter Harrold earned three assists. Andre Benoit added an empty-net goal in the final minute.

WOLVES CAN’T CATCH MONSTERS

CLEVELAND, OH --- The Chicago Wolves rallied late twice to get within one goal, but the Lake Erie Monsters held on for a 4-3 win on Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena.
Forwards Eriah Hayes, Danny Kristo and Jeremy Welsh scored for the Wolves (11-8-1-2), who outshot the Monsters 15-7 in the third period of the Central Division showdown. Josh Anderson posted 2 goals and 1 assist for Lake Erie.

WOLVES EDGED BY MONSTERS ON THE ROAD

CLEVELAND, OH --- For the second night in a row, Chicago couldn’t muster enough offense in falling to Lake Erie, 2-1, at Quicken Loans Arena. The Wolves lost their seventh-consecutive game at Quicken Loans Arena (all by one goal) as they dropped a two-game series in Cleveland.
Ivan Barbashev scored the Wolves’ lone goal, his fifth of the season, as Chicago (11-9-1-2) went 0-for-4 on the power play. Coach John Anderson pulled goaltender Pheonix Copley in favor of an extra skater late in the third, but the Wolves could not find the equalizer.

PAW PRINTS: The Wolves are 3-6-0-1 in their last ten games ... The offense has gone to sleep (25 GF) in the last ten games, but the goaltending and defense have remained steady and consistent (28 GA) in that stretch ... By contrast, in their first ten games of the season, the Wolves posted an 8-1-0-1 record, and outscored their opponents 41-27.
