The Blues will be playing on NBC's Sunday afternoon broadcast a few times the second half of this season, but this afternoon's is a prime slot. The game is the lead-in to NBC's Super Bowl coverage, and the Blues couldn't ask for a better time for a little national broadcast love.
They have points in their last eleven games, going 10-0-1. This long stretch of excellent hockey has bumped the Blues up to just two points behind the Central Division leading Nashville Predators, two points ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks, and six points up on the slightly-stumbling Winnipeg Jets. Finally, excellent play has helped the Blues gain some ground.
Ovie's back in his familiar spot at the top of the goal leaders list with 29 so far this year; Vladimir Tarasenko is 7th with five fewer. Will Vladdy add to his total tonight? It's worth a shot!
