The Jets parted with Evander Kane, Zach Bogosian and goal-tending prospect Jason Kasdorf in exchange for former rookie of the year Tyler Myers, pending free-agent Drew Stafford and prospects Joel Armia and Brendan Lemieux. The Sabres also gave up the last of their three 1st round picks.
Kane has been at the center of trade rumors, especially since he recent run-in with teammates over fashion disagreements, but his recent season ending surgery led many to speculate that no trade would occur this year.
Myers parole from Buffalo has also been rumored all year.
Long-time Sabre Stafford was expected to be moved because of his pending free-agency.
The Sabres secured a linemate for McDavid while helping their tank by getting rid of talent for injured talent.
The Jets dumped a clubhouse liability who was out anyway and brought some size and skill in, as well as a first round pick.
There are mixed reviews over at Die by the Blade.
I say the Jets fleeced the Sabres. What say you?
