Blues At Lightning Morning Open Thread: No Pushovers

The Blues have an outstanding record against the Eastern Conference that will be put to the test again when they travel to Tampa Bay tonight.

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Lightning sit on top of the Atlantic Division with 74 points. The Blues are second in the Central Division, also with 74 points. To say that this is an equal and exciting matchup tonight is obvious. The Blues are bringing their 15-4-2 record against the East into Florida, where they will spend the next four days as they play the Lightning tonight and the Florida Panthers on Sunday. Neither game will be an easy one, especially without Kevin Shattenkirk.

The Blues beat the Bolts 2-1 in overtime on February 3rd with goals from Vladimir Tarasenko and Jaden Schwartz and a masterful performance by Brian Elliott. Ells hasn't faired well his last two starts, however. Will he get a chance to redeem himself tonight, or will the resurgent Jake Allen be back in net?

This is your morning open thread. Check back later on for some Road Music via CCR and your GDT. While you're waiting, head over to visit our friends at Raw Charge, say hi, and see what they have to say about the game tonight.
