Beyond Checkerdome #78: Repeater

The latest episode is up, and considers itself the luckiest podcast on the face of the earth...

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Another week in the books! This show has some technical difficulties, but we hope you can soldier through it. We cover the 3-1-0 run of games, with improbable goals and non-goals all over the place. The Blues get a little pass-happy, but it does result in a pretty goal this week. We complain about the goaltending, only for Brian Elliott to get a shutout (after we recorded, of course, as is tradition). There's a #78 in our history, and we continue to look at the ever-changing playoff picture. There's a new 4H in town, and a challenge for our listeners, too.

Give it a listen, eh?

We apologize for the echo effect... we'll have that fixed by next week. That's why this was a little late - we took out as much as we could.

The name we couldn't come up with is Marcus Vinnerborg. He's Swedish and was a referee in the NHL from 2010 through 2012, when he "retired'. He still works occasionally, and is working the upcoming IIHF World Championships. He's no longer working NHL games, however. He was the first European-trained official to work in the NHL, and that list has now doubled to include the newly-arrived Evgeny Romasko from Russia.

Thanks for listening and your continued support. Hit us up with any feedback, and especially if you have any ideas for the Beyond Checkerdome drinking game. Drop as a line at BeyondCheckerdome AT G Mail DOT com, or send a tweet our way with @ByndCheckerdome. Keep an eye for some photos on the BeyondCheckerdome Instagram account as well.

Cheers!
