During last night's Avalanche/Ducks team, the Avs' broadcast crew popped up an interesting stat - what teams had the best winning percentages since January 1st? Two of them are this afternoon's participants; the Blues have the best road winning percentage in that time at .721. Not bad.
The Blues have played well recently, albeit a bit flat offensively at times. 3-0 and 4-0 shutouts at Calgary have happened, but so have 3-1 losses against the Wild and 2-1 goaltender duel shootout losses against the Jets. The blueline has been very, very good. Kevin Shattenkirk may be back shortly after this road trip. Alex Pietrangelo has been playing much, much better, paired with Karl Gunnarsson. Zbynek Michalek isn't concussed any more. The next step is getting some goals against playoff teams - especially ones that the Blues will probably see in the playoffs.
Scoring against Devan Dubnyk is a tall order, but it can be done. While you're waiting for the game to start, head over to Hockey Wilderness to see what they think about a game starting at 1:00 in the afternoon (memo: it sucks). CCR will have some Road Music for you, and the GDT will drop shortly before the puck does.
