GameThread for St. Louis Blues at Minnesota Wild, Mar 21, 2015

Paul Maurice just called the Blues the best team in the league. The Blues need to live up to those expectations this afternoon.

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

The Blues are 1-1 against the Wild this season. Their win came 3-2 in a shootout back in November; the loss was 3-1 a week ago. The last time the Wild saw Brian Elliott and the Blues, they allowed two goals on 17 shots in a clunker of a game. Whatever "killer instinct" the Blues have, it would be swell if it would appear against Minnesota once this season. The Wild are a potential first round matchup for the Blues and are doing just what playoff teams want to do this time of the year - they're playing excellent, solid hockey.

The Wild are clicking. The Blues are in first in the division, but the lead is not as big as they would like. Two points tonight would go a long way to padding their position over Nashville (two points behind) and the Blackhawks (four points behind, with two games against the Blues the final week of the season). These are the games that the Blues are supposed to win - so go win it.

This is your GameDay Thread. Comment like you hate having your afternoon on a Saturday hamstrung by a game, but since it's the Blues, you're ok with it. It could be worse - the game against the Wings is tomorrow at 11:30, so thank God tonight isn't a night one.

Let's do this. Let's Go Blues.
