There are all sorts of playoff seeding scenarios at play today, the last day of the regular season. The teams in the Western Conference are set; the positioning is not. The Blues have clinched the Central, but a regulation or overtime win over the Wild coupled with a Ducks loss means that first in the West is theirs, along with home ice through at least the Western Conference Finals.
If the Blues lose to the Wild this afternoon, and the Blackhawks lose to the Avalanche, then guess who the Blues get to deal with in round one? Yep. Chicago. My conditioning that I have undergone over several decades of being a Blues fan has made me not favorable to that matchup, though the issues that the Blues have had with the Wild this season has kind of made me not favorable to that matchup either.
I am not favorable to any matchup. I propose that round one be a bye round.
Anywho, as they hope to scoot up the standings, make sure that you head over to Hockey Wilderness. Hang around here for some Memorabilia Memories, your preview, and the GDT.
