It's the Blues. It's game six. It's on the road. History and luck have never been particularly kind to this team, nor have they been kind to themselves. Game sixes, especially the last couple of seasons, have been gifts to the home team - an opportunity to go to the next round.
You can almost hear the Blues practicing the "no no no, we *insist* that you play the Blackhawks next round, Wild. After you."
As Brad so eloquently put it yesterday, this team is fragile. They get behind even the smallest of eight balls, and they don't know what to do. I am not a pom pom waiver - I find it difficult to believe that today will be much different, because the Blues have never shown me that it's going to be.
DK pointed out in his letter to the team last night that there are excellent examples of what to do happening in this round. The Islanders jumped on some extremely silly play by the Caps and forced a game seven yesterday. The Senators were down to start this round three games to zero, and tonight they play game six in Ottawa. The Red Wings clawed back from blowing a lead and losing in overtime at home to shutting out the Lightning in Tampa Bay.
The Blues can and should look to those teams as examples. Is it possible? Yes. Do I want it? Yes.
Just stop breaking my heart.
This is your GameDay Thread. Comment like you've either got one foot off of the ledge or have already jumped.
Let's do this. Let's go Blues.
