Blues At Blackhawks Morning Open Thread

The Blues could win the division or finish in a wildcard spot.

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

So Hildy is out of town for the holiday and left me in charge of the GameDay stuff...

The Blues have gone 5-3-2 in their last 10 and sit at 103 points with 4 to play.  Nashville sits at 104 (5-2-3) with 3 to play thanks to Jhonas Enroth playing better against them than Kari Lehtonen played against the Blues (not that it takes a lot).  Chicago is one point back of the Blues after going 7-3-0 lately.  Finally, Minnesota could still leapfrog the Blues.  They're at 96 points with 4 games left.

Jake Allen gets the start.  Hitch says "It's his turn".  Yeah, sure.  Allen is 3-0-2 in his last 5 starts with a 0.948 overall save percentage.  Brian Elliott has been struggling of late, going 1-3-1 with a 0.866 overall save percentage.

Alex Steen and Vladimir Tarasenko are still out with "lower body injuries".  It sounds like Steen could be back sometime this week.  Tarasenko, on the other hand, probably won't be back until the playoffs.

This is your morning open thread. I'm not sure it we have Road  Music today but check back often and click on stuff.  Memorabilia Memories will be up this afternoon.  Puck drop is earlier than usual today:  630pm Central time on NBCSN.

I'm going to quote Hildy from her last Blackhawks Morning Open Thread: "Don't forget to head over and say hi to our frenimies at Second City Hockey and our partners in publishing The Committed Indian if you have a second."  Ugh!  I feel dirty even doing that.

Let's Go Blues!
