Last year, at the 2014 Draft in Philadelphia, the Blues selected Robby Fabbri 21st overall. This year, they will, barring a trade, select no one in the first round. That pick, which would've been the 25th pick overall, goes to the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets acquired that pick in the deal that sent Evander Kane and Zach Bogosian to Buffalo. The Sabres, you might recall, acquired that pick from the Blues in the deal that made the Blues five percent better through the acquisition of Ryan Miller and Steve Ott.
So, yeah, first round pick and a prospect for Ott.
That doesn't mean that tonight isn't must-watch out of the corner of your eye viewing, though. Trades can still go down - is tonight the night that T.J. Oshie gets shipped off? Will Patrik Berglund get dealt before his NMC kicks in? Will there be a surprise today or tomorrow like the Polak for Gunnarsson deal last year? Wait and see, and check back tonight for your open thread.
