You could say that Tuesday night's home game was successful despite some early slippage. A goal apiece from Alexander Steen, Paul Stastny, and Vladimir Tarasenko, plus two helpers for the latter, makes for a good evening.
Fans will have another look at that line tonight at Scottrade as the Dallas Stars come to town. Tarasenko may have been the one member of the Blues who had the Stars' number last season. In nine games against the Stars in his career, Tarasenko has six goals and three points. Preseason points don't count, but it would be nice to see if his new linemates contribute to offense tonight. Ken Hitchcock likes what he sees, or at least we can assume as much, because two games in a row for a line combination is a good sign, especially in preseason.
From the Blues' site, here is tonight's roster:
Forwards: Pat Cannone, Jordan Caron, Dmitrij Jaskin, Magnus Paajarvi, Ty Rattie, Jaden Schwartz, Paul Stastny,Alexander Steen, Vladimir Tarasenko, Yannick Veilleux, Jeremy Welsh, Eriah Hayes
Defensemen: Andre Benoit, Joel Edmundson, Petteri Lindbohm, Colton Parayko, Alex Pietrangelo, Kevin Shattenkirk
Goalies: Brian Elliott, Jordan Binnington
Check back later on today for the Stars' roster, and hopefully some info on how to follow the game other than the official website and Twitter accounts.
