Blues News:
- Speaking of injuries, Hildy wants to know which wounded Blue will sting the most. Let's see...I like the way Umlat is playing, but he isn't going to kill us. Carl Gunnarsson...might mean a few less turnovers. Jay Bouwmeester...well you can make a case for him but his inconsistency means we are only losing a quality d-man every other game or so. Jake Allen won't hurt us as long as Moose keeps playing like he did against L.A. I say Stastny. We have been hurting for offense and even though Paul Stastny hasn't been burying the puck, he has been racking up the assists lately and he generate offense with his play-making. Stastny gets my vote. How about you? [STLGT]
- Was Kevin Shattenkirk in play for Ryan Johansen? (Would you have taken that deal)? Is Robby Fabbri in play for Jonathan Drouin? Who knows? These guys pretend to... [Raw Charge]
- More trade talk. Honestly, I don't think this Drouin guy is worth losing Fabbri for. [HNGN]
- Apparently David Backes has already turned down a deal worth 5.5m per year. If he is hunting for more than that, I saw we let him hunt elsewhere. [Twitter]
- With the injury to Allen, Moose is back in the saddle. Again. Let's see what the big guy can do. Again. [STLPD]
Hockey News:
- 6 games last night. Of note: Minnesota got doubled-up by Jersey, Chicago doubled-up Colorado, Winnipeg got doubled-up by Buffalo and Anaheim got doubled-up by Detroit. [NHL]
- 4 games tonight. All quiet on the central front. [NHL]
- New power rankings are out. The Blues are still inexplicably in the top 10 despite a 3-3-3, fuck that, 3-6 run. [Bleacher Report]
- An interesting look at 1-for-1 trades. [Down Goes Brown]
- Some insanity in Edmonton last night. Matt Hendricks drills a guy, fights a guy and then gives the thumbs up. That would be all well and good, except he threw a dirty hit that looked to be concussion zone. I'm sure the NHLDPS will use the thumbs up in their supplemental discipline video. [Puck Daddy]
Other Shite:
- Canadians; good at hockey, not good at building bridges. S/T to CrossCheckRaise for the link. [TBNews]
- An alarm clock rug that won't shut off until you put both feet on it. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! [Bored Panda]
- Hollywood is awkward. [Distractify]
- Today's beer of the day is the Englishman by Chapman's. A smooth brown ale that is infinitely drinkable from a local northeastern Indiana MIcrobrew. Try one today, if you can even find it where you live. [Untappd]
Song(s) of the Day:
In honor of the one of the weirdest men ever, who transitioned musical style as fluidly as he did his personal style. Love him or hate him, few people have had this sort of influence on music over the years. RIP David Bowie.
