Penguins At Blues Morning Open Thread: Finish Strong

After a career-best save performance Saturday night, will Brian Elliott be rested enough to stop Sid and Geno?

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Pens and Blues always seem to play each other close - back on November 25th, the Blues fell 4-3 in overtime in Pittsburgh. The Blues seem to have enjoyed overtime a great deal recently; Saturday night's winner was one of many this month that have needed extra time to be decided.

It would do the Blues, who have been playing like their skates are in molasses, a world of good to finish this one in regulation. Jay Bouwmeester participated in the optional skate yesterday and may go tonight; the Penguins will more than likely be missing Kris Letang and David Warsofsky who, and this is not a joke, ran into Tim Peel yesterday and then landed awkwardly on his head.

Geeze, Tim. Get out of the way.

This is your morning open thread. Check back later on for a Lighting the Lamp, your preview, and your GDT. While you're waiting on puck drop, don't forget to head over to PensBurgh this afternoon and say hi.
