The Blues have two games left this month before the All Star break, and they're both against opponents that aren't to be messed with. The Avalanche, after a very slow start to the year, they're 6-4-0 in their last ten games and on a two game winning streak. They're also fifth in the division and hanging on to the last wild card spot in the West. The Blues haven't been able to beat them yet this season, losing 3-1 on December 13th, and falling 4-3 in overtime on January 6th.
The Blues seem to be shaking out of the January doldrums, going 5-2-3 in their last ten, and winning three in a row. They're five points out of first in the division, and much of that has to do with the solid play of Brian Elliott. Ells is going to make the return of Jake Allen post All Star Game the start of another goalie controversy.
This is your morning open thread. Check back later for some CCR and his Road Music and a GDT later on tonight. While waiting, head over to Mile High Hockey and say hi.
