HOCKEY NEWS:

  • Charlotte Checkers goalie Daniel Altshuller, who had entered the game after the starter allowed 3 goals, started a fight with Iowa Wild goalie Steve Michalek (in his AHL debut), Altshuller was pulled after 12 minutes, allowing 2 goals and earning that fighting major. [CBS Eye on Hockey]

OTHER STUFF:

  • Wycombe goalkeeping coach Barry Richardson, 46, was forced to play against Plymouth after the starting goalie was stretchered off the field in the 13th minute. Richardson kept Plymouth scoreless. [Screamer/Deadspin]
