The last time the Blues and Blackhawks met this preseason, the Blues weren't exactly playing with a full A-list squad. This led to a 4-0 drubbing. Tonight? Much better: everyone starting tonight is an NHLer, or Robert Bortuzzo and Ty Rattie. The Blackhawks' line-up? Not so much. From the Blues' official site:
Forwards: Patrik Berglund, Kyle Brodziak, Robby Fabbri, Dmitrij Jaskin, Jori Lehtera,David Perron, Ty Rattie, Ryan Reaves, Paul Stastny, Alexander Steen, Vladimir Tarasenko, Scottie Upshall
Defense: Robert Bortuzzo, Jay Bouwmeester, Carl Gunnarsson, Colton Parayko, Alex Pietrangelo, Kevin Shattenkirk
Goalies: Jake Allen, Carter Hutton
The Blues have had a meh preseason at best, heading into tonight's game 3-3-1. Of course, preseason is an evaluative time for individual players more so than for the team as a whole. It'd be irresponsible to draw any conclusions about the Blues' regular season chances from preseason play. The real season starts on October 12th in Chicago.
You can catch tonight's game on the NHL Network, or listen in on KMOX.
