The St. Louis Blues opened the season at home with a 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wild, and their home record has continued to be impressive since that date. They've allowed two or fewer goals in each home game this season, helping them to a 8-1-2 record that is currently doing a lot to keep them afloat in the standings. Their 3-6-1 road record is absolutely inexcusable.
The Wild(s) are just a point beneath the Blues in the standings, also beneficiaries of an excellent home record. They're .500 on the road, but are going to have to deal with Jake Allen's tiny (1.24) home GAA and a pretty stingy home defense.
Now, if only the Blues could shift that over to their road games. Eh, that's something they won't have to worry about for a while.
This is your morning open thread. Check back later on for a Lighting the Lamp from Rick, your preview, and your GDT. While you're waiting, head over to Hockey Wilderness and see what predictions our friends from the great white north have about tonight's game.
