Chicago Blackhawks At St. Louis Blues Morning Open Thread: Under Pressure

The Blues need to prove that their goal explosion against the Colorado Avalanche wasn't a fluke.

Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

Sunday seems like ages ago in hockey time, doesn't it? Here we were, excited about the Blues' 5-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Tonight, though, brings a much tougher opponent: the division leading Chicago Blackhawks. The last time these two teams met on opening night, the Blues also scored five goals over a discombobulated looking Blackhawks team.

That's not them anymore. They've righted the ship with an impressive seven game winning streak and are 8-1-1 in their last ten games. That the Blues are only three points behind them right now is impressive.

The Blues have been strong at Scottrade, going 5-1-1 so far this season. Let's see if they can make it 6-1-1 and give Nail Yakupov something to cheer about from the pressbox.

This is your morning open thread. Check back later on for a Lighting the Lamp from Rick, your preview, and your GameDay Thread for NBCSN's broadcast tonight.
